Nike pro Cole Hocker was edged out in the men's 800 meters while running 1:49.15 in the rain at Hayward Field in Eugene. Oregon's Luis Peralta hung on to win in 1:49.12. Hocker returned to the track later to pace training partner Cooper Teare to a World Athletics Championships standard (3:35) in the 1,500 meters.
